Your generous donation will fund our mission to further our efforts to stop DIPG/DMG in its tracks. Thank you for helping us support research, trial access, data integration and utilization.
Families like ours are left with shattered hearts and unanswered questions, wondering why enough research and resources have not been dedicated to finding a cure for DIPG. Our children deserve better – they deserve hope, they deserve a fighting chance, and they deserve a cure!
DIPG has no cure, and kills more children every year than any other pediatric cancer. DIPG is underfunded with minimal awareness. The standard treatment for DIPG hasn't change in over 50 years.
Your generosity will support D.I.P.G. Clinical Research to bring an end to this cruel disease. Be a part of the BenjaminSTRONG legacy, every child deserves a CURE.🎗
Benjamin Amador, journey against cancer began on February 15th 2019, when his parents, Gaby and Charlie, faced the unbearable news that their son was diagnosed with Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG), a devastating terminal brain tumor situated in the pons region of the brain stem, which is responsible for functions such as balance, eyesight, speech, and breathing.
Despite the statistics—200-400 diagnoses annually of children between the ages of 4-11, a median survival of 9 months, and a grim survival rate of less than 1%—Benjamin faced each day with a heart full of love and an infectious smile that inspired everyone around him.
Throughout his brave 21-month battle, Benjamin underwent extensive treatment, including 42 rounds of radiation at the Miami Cancer Institute, numerous surgeries, and several rounds of chemotherapy, all with astounding bravery.
Ben’s family started the #Benjaminstrong movement on social media, sharing photos of him and his younger brother, Brandon, to raise awareness about pediatric cancer. This platform resonated with thousands who followed Benjamin's journey, demonstrating that childhood cancer is far more common than perceived and calling attention to the critical lack of effective treatments for DIPG, which has remained unchanged for over 30 years.
On November 11, 2020, after fighting valiantly, Benjamin earned his angel wings. Yet, his legacy lives on through the tireless efforts of his family, who honor his memory by supporting other families battling pediatric cancer and advocating for research and a cure to ultimately bring an end to DIPG.
In honor of Benjamin's legacy, the Amador Family continues to fight with determination and purpose. Their mission is to support and serve families battling pediatric cancer, raise awareness about DIPG, and collaborate on innovative research trials focused on Pediatric Brain Cancer, particularly DIPG/DMG, the leading cause of cancer-related death in children.
The BenjaminSTRONG Foundation is 501(c)(3) public charity organization and was founded after our son Ben, passed away of -DIPG- Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma.
